“Nothing beats the Litchfield Jazz Festival … an ongoing tradition for those in the know.” —JazzImprov
The Litchfield Jazz Festival, in the beautiful Litchfield Hills of Connecticut, has been presenting legends and introducing new talent since 1996. Over the years the festival has presented legends like Sonny Rollins, Tito Puente, Ray Charles and Paquito D'Rivera, as well as introduced new talent and fostered the careers of Diana Krall, Brad Mehldau, Jane Monheit, Nicholas Payton and many others.
This August is the 15th Anniversary of the Litchfield Jazz Festival and will honor Dave Brubeck in his 90th year. The venue is the air-conditioned Springs Center and campus of Kent School in Kent, CT, where the festival's wildly popular educational arm, Litchfield Jazz Camp is also held. Kent's gorgeous campus on the banks of the Housatonic river provide the perfect backdrop for a month of jazz festivities culminating the first weekend of August. The quaint town of Kent (population less than 3,000), known as the cultural heart of the Litchfield Hills, boasts an array of art galleries, restaurants, shops and inns—all within walking distance! And all of this just 2 hours from New York City!
